Violet Hafer Chewelah, Wash. Service for Violet Marie Hafer, 90, will b e at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah. B u ri al will be at Chewelah Memorial Park. Born in Cottonwood, Idaho, M r s . Hafer died Tuesday. She had lived in the Valley, Wash., and Ch e w e l a h area for most of her life. She and her husband, Ralph, far me d i n t h e Valley area for 43 years. Mrs. Hafer was a member of th eVa ll e y Gr an ge, Rebekah Lodge of Chewelah and the United Church o fCh ris t in Ch ewe lah. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, R al p h Ha fe r ; two sons , Loren Hafer of Bow, Wash., and Melvin Hafe rof K enn ewi ck ; two d aught ers, Thelma Peterson of Port Orchard, W ash ., a n d M argie Sumerli n of Sp okane; two brothers, Gail Martin ofE l k and Lya l Marti n of Coe ur d'Ale ne; three sisters, Ora Vegna of A pach e Jun ct ion, Ari z., Annad ene Whit e of Littleton, Colo.,a n d Ru th Jo hns on o f Coeur d' Alene; 18 grandchil dren, 24 great-g r a nd chil d ren a n d two gr eat-great-g randchildr en.
